Standard approach
What will control it?
- Short appointments focused on the main symptom
- Tests read as "normal" or "abnormal"
- Hormones, thyroid, gut and mood handled separately
- Treatment mainly aims to control symptoms
About your practitioner
Clinician, educator and researcher in functional medicine and functional neurology, specialising in gut, hormonal and brain-based imbalances.
Why this clinic exists
Too many women are told their exhaustion, anxiety, weight gain or brain fog is "just your age" or "just hormones". Alan's practice is built around taking those symptoms seriously and finding out what is driving them.
He looks at your hormones alongside your thyroid, blood sugar, gut, nutrients, stress and sleep. Alongside the Well Woman Clinic, Alan practises osteopathy in Llandudno and Menai Bridge, and he works alongside your GP and any specialists.
Why root cause matters
Standard care often asks which treatment will control a symptom. We also ask why the symptom is there, and what else in the body is feeding it.

How it works in practice
Perimenopausal anxiety and poor sleep, for example, may be made worse by blood sugar swings, low iron and a stressed nervous system. Supporting those can make a real difference, with or without HRT.
Your symptoms, cycle, life stage and history.
Functional blood chemistry and targeted tests.
A personal nutrition and lifestyle plan.
Follow-up consultations and retesting.
We don't prescribe HRT or other medication, and we never ask you to stop prescribed treatment.
Start with a Discovery Consultation: an unhurried hour to talk through your symptoms, cycle, history and goals, online. We'll agree together what, if anything, is worth testing.
The Discovery Consultation is an unhurried, hour-long conversation, online by secure video.
